A Night of Luxury at Hotel Europe – Escaping the Chaos, Embracing the Calm
During our family trip to Ireland, my partner and I were gifted a rare gem: a night away—just the two of us—at the beautiful Hotel Europe in County Kerry. Thanks to our wonderful Irish grandparents, who kindly took the reins with the kids for the night, we slipped away into a world of peace, indulgence, and reconnection.
Tucked away in the heart of Killarney, Hotel Europe is a retreat in every sense. From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in comfort and luxury.
We spent the afternoon at the spa and pool, soaking in the serenity and the sweeping views of the lakes and mountains. Later, we wandered hand-in-hand through quiet walking trails and even spent some time with the horses—a peaceful, grounding experience we didn’t know we needed.
Dinner was a true highlight—each course a celebration of local flavors, beautifully presented, and enjoyed slowly, without interruption (a luxury in itself when you're usually dining with kids!).
While we were playing, our kids got to play with their new Irish friends and eat dinner. Win win!

We ended the night relaxed and happy, and woke up to a breakfast that was just as memorable—fresh, hearty, and shared over easy conversation and coffee.
Vacations often revolve around making memories with the kids, and those are the moments we cherish deeply. But this little escape reminded us that caring for ourselves—and for each other—is just as important. We came back refreshed, grateful, and more present for the little ones, all thanks to one perfectly indulgent night away.
So if you're planning a trip and have the opportunity: take the night off. Let the chaos wait. Trust the grandparents. And say yes to luxury.
