Dublin Days: Family, Fun, and Milkshakes on Grafton Street

We’ve arrived in Dublin! After a smooth journey, we were warmly welcomed by aunts, uncles, and a house full of excited cousins. The energy in the air was infectious — hugs, laughter, and the kind of chaos that only comes with a big family reunion.

The kids took no time settling in. Within minutes, shoes were kicked off, games were underway, and the sound of giggles filled every corner of the house. Watching them all bond instantly — as if no time had passed — was one of those sweet parenting moments I wish I could bottle. We had to get them out of the house for a little to run around at the mark- this energy!

During the day, we ventured out for a bit of city fun and made our way to the iconic Grafton Street. Street performers, music in the air, and a buzz of life all around made it feel like Dublin was putting on a show just for us. The kids were wide-eyed, pointing at everything — from the buskers to the colorful shop windows.

Inevitably, hunger struck. After a round of “What do you want to eat?” and the usual chorus of indecision, we found a rare gem: a unanimous yes to Eddie Rocket’s — the perfect throwback diner spot that hit the mark for everyone.

The boys dove into their cheeseburgers (loaded with all the fixings, of course) like it was their last meal on Earth, paired with towering milkshakes they slurped with pure joy. The girls, a little more selective with their food choices, stuck to familiar bites but joined in enthusiastically when it came to milkshake time. Chocolate, vanilla, Oreo, strawberry — there were happy faces and messy lips all around.

All in all, it was the perfect start to our time in Dublin — full hearts, full bellies, and the unmistakable joy of family time.
